Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 ounces)
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15 ounces)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic; cook until translucent.
  3. In a large bowl, mix cooked beef, rice, tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. In a crockpot, layer half of the cabbage, then half of the beef mixture.
  5. Repeat layers, ending with cabbage on top.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils.
  • Serve with sour cream if desired.
