A hearty and comforting dish made with layers of cabbage, rice, and ground meat.
Ingredients

- 1 head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 ounces)
- 1 can tomato sauce (15 ounces)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic; cook until translucent.
- In a large bowl, mix cooked beef, rice, tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- In a crockpot, layer half of the cabbage, then half of the beef mixture.
- Repeat layers, ending with cabbage on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils.
- Serve with sour cream if desired.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
