- 2 cups calico beans
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Soak calico beans overnight.
- Drain beans and cook in boiling water until tender.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion.
- Combine cooked beans, beef mixture, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce in a pot.
- Simmer for 30 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper before serving.
Notes
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
- Serve with cornbread for a complete meal.
