Ingredients

  • 2 cups calico beans
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak calico beans overnight.
  2. Drain beans and cook in boiling water until tender.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion.
  4. Combine cooked beans, beef mixture, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce in a pot.
  5. Simmer for 30 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper before serving.

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
